Bamboo fibers become beads

KNPO evaluates the possibility to produce our beads from natural and eco-friendly bamboo. One of our partners is Ekobo an environmentally conscious manufacturer specializing in making products from a renewable resource, bamboo.

Bamboo is fast growing, superseding all other plants. The increase in biomass annually for bamboo can be up to 30%, compared to trees where it’s 2-5% per year. The giant grass flourishes organically without pesticides or fertilizers. Bamboo is versatile and can be used as building material, in textiles and amongst many other things – for making beads.

Here you see the result of the bamboo fiber ground to a powder. After being mixed with corn resin and compressed in a mold, it could become a KNPO bead!
