traffic fatalities in EU

Of all traffic fatalities in EU countries, the proportion of pedestrian fatalities is about 17% and the proportion of cyclist fatalities is about 6%. Age groups that have the highest percentage of pedestrian fatalities are children younger than 10 years of age.

The distribution of fatalities by light conditions (see Table) shows that pedestrians are in most danger during darkness with an average of 45,5%.

Figures are slightly old as this is a low priority with the government, and therefore updated rarely, but the trend has not gotten better.
