KNPO North America Files for Recognition of Exemption Status with the IRS

Today was an exciting day for KNPO North America! We got together with our CPA (Dashiell Thompson with Eckhoff Accountancy) and finalized all the paperwork to file form 1023 for 501(c)3 Status with the United States Internal Revenue Service.

This will allow donations to be tax deductible!

Luckily (per IRS form 1023 Instructions):

"If you file Form 1023 within 27 months after the end of the month in which you organization were legally formed, and we approve the application, the legal date of formation will be the effective date of your exempt status."

I am extremely confident that we will be awarded our exempt letter as soon as it is processed! Hopefully the government agency will work quickly!

We have not received our award letter yet, though there are no conceivable reasons why we would not be awarded Exempt status.  With the painstaking care of Dashiell Thompson, and the documentation of our Board of Directors, we have completed and double checked all items that are needed for our 501(c)3 status. We have met all the requirements necessary, and go above and beyond to make sure our organization is totally transparent in all its affairs.
